Why am I awake now?

I'm awake, working on a customer issue (one, I might add, that doesn't need to be done now). The issue involves putting a server back into a DNS record. I know, this could have been done during the day, and no one would have said boo about it. But this *has to* be done during maintenance hours. I understand that part.


What I don't understand is the part about why I need to be up at this ungodly hour. Sure if I was playing Star Wars, I might still be up. But then, that's just me being a weird MMORPG player guy. But for me to be up, just so that someone else can make a DNS entry change.... Well, I'm a little disappointed in humanity right now.
